![]() TEAPOTS QUILTERS at Norton Chapel Coming in from the cold! ![]() TEAPOTS QUILTERS Meeting outside at The Ravenous Cafe during pandemic - yes, it was as cold as it looks even though it was Summer! We were all determined that the group would carry on through adversity.
NOTE: If the class is full you may ask to go on the waiting list - if this waiting list gets long enough we may open another class.
Temporary way for regulars to pay! |
The Teapots meet (usually) on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, from 1:30 till 5pm Classes are for your own projects, and we will help with whatever you are doing at the time. We provide ironing stations plus large cutting mats and rulers (you will need to bring your own rotary cutter and other basic sewing equipment). We also provide extention leads so you can plug in your sewing machine. We should be able to help you with any aspect of piecing, applique, quilting and related skills. There is no general syllabus, and each student has to decide what they want to do. We are happy to give advice on sources of inspiration as well as on buying fabric and tools, cutting, sewing, quilting and finishing your masterpiece... We personally like to do much of our work by machine, for speed and ease, but can teach many relevant hand-work skills. If you have not done any patchwork or quilting before, you may find it useful to spend your first class looking at books and magazines, playing with fabric, and looking at the sort of projects other students are engaged on. If you have a project in the cupboard (as so many of us do) languishing in an oh-my-what-now state, please bring it with you for advice and evaluation. You can also try tools, learn to use a rotary cutter and ruler safely, drink tea, and eat cake... The group is limited to 20 students. We are currently (Early 2025) looking to recruit new members - if you are interested, please contact us on the email address below. As this is a sociable group and meets regularly, we like the existing students to decide whether they wish a newcomer to join - we do not wish to have clashes of personality within the class. You will be asked to come along for a 'taster' session to see if you like the way we are set up, and to see if you fit in with the group. The current subs is £10 per session CONTACT: If you need any further information about any of the above, please CLICK HERE to email me |
