I am at my happiest when I am making and particularly sewing. Like many of my generation I was taught to sew at a young age by my Grandmother, and I thank her daily for that long-ago patience which has shaped my world. I trained in art and design and spent many years working in that and other industries before starting my own business. Now I find as much joy in teaching as I do in making; being able to share that love of sewing and seeing the 'light-bulb moment' when students master a new technique is immensely satisfying.

Shortly after starting my business I was lucky enough to meet Helen Howes, whose work I have always admired and who lives close to my current base in Norfolk. Helen proved to be an amazing mentor in the early days when I lacked confidence in my own work, and continues to encourage me now as a friend and co-conspiritor in our joint venture: Modern Art Quilters (MAQ). In addition to our own seperate art practices, we also teach, travel and exhibit work together under the aegis of MAQ and find our hugely differening visual styles work very well in conjunction with eachother.
