18th November 2018
11am to 5pm
My aim was to achieve a pleasing contrast between the free-form shapes of improv piecing and a more rigid, traditional block structure. By arranging the blocks in columns with the same background colour, the eccentric inner squares seem to dance.
I am indebted to my friend, Helen Howes, who first showed me this brilliant method of tote construction - it is so simple that anyone can tackle it - a real 'light bulb' moment!
